Tis’ always the Season of Giving
“It’s the most wonderful time of the year~” sang Andy Williams as he sang about December. The month of December has always been a month of celebrations and joy which came with a little twist during the year of 2020. However, most of us are still lucky as we still get to celebrate the festivities and welcome the new year with full bellies.
Meanwhile, not so far away from us in the town of Penampang, Sabah, there are some families that do not get into the festive mood at all. Many of the daily wage earners, especially those in the informal or tourism related sectors are affected by the Covid-19 pandemic that has left them jobless and in dire need of aid.
Continuing our CSR journey in Sabah, our Kota Kinabalu colleagues (Audrey, Edward & Danny), on behalf of the company, donated 100 food baskets worth RM50 each to the underprivileged families of SMK Bahang in line with the My Magic Box programme (CMCO edition) of the school, with the tagline #KitaJagaKita. Each basket contains some basic food items such as rice, sugar, cooking oil and eggs.
The My Magic Box programme (CMCO edition) was established with the aim to assist families who are affected by the Conditional Movement Control Order that was enforced in Sabah due to the rise in Covid-19 cases. We hope that the food baskets provided some Christmas spirit alongside some support and relieve to the families to push through during these trying times.
