The Joy Of Giving- Pertubuhan Kebajikan Orang Tua Cacat Dan Kurang Upaya Taman Connaught

By Nur Aisyah (CSR Committee) and Tanny Yap (CSR Chairperson)

Pertubuhan Kebajikan Orang Tua Cacat Dan Kurang Upaya Taman Connaught, established in January 2019, located in Cheras Taman Connaught, is a charity centre that adopts and takes care of the socially vulnerable seniors, most often from the general hospitals, abandoned by their families, disabled or suffering from ailments like Alzheimer’s disease.

Our CSR committee approached them to help with their daily expenses and necessities. This donation is part of our CSR initiative under the pillar of Community. Connaught Old Folks’ House provides the most important factor to these seniors – Love. Regardless of race and religion, they adopt and take care of them without any charge, so that the elderly can have a comfort place to live. Since 2019, the centre has already taken in 31 seniors from 56 to 88 years old, and currently there are more on the waiting list.

All the elderly was taken care of by 3 main staff members and have hired people to help them to clean and cook. On my second visit to give the donation, I noticed there were a few volunteers to help them to clean the house area and to spend time with the elderly.

As part of our CSR initiatives, we have supported the center through a donation of RM3000 and supplied groceries and met other needs on 8th April 2023. We hope our contribution lightened their hardship and cheered them up.
