Give where it’s most needed
By Chan Joey (CSR Committee)
Education is essential in helping children escape the cycle of poverty. Children are our future leaders. Something must be done to help them overcome whatever obstacles blocking their paths to receive education.
SMK Bahang, Penampang currently has 2,108 students whereby 80% of the students come from families of B40 group and below. There are also 196 students with special needs in the same school, making it the highest number of special need students in Sabah.
They have reached out to our assist in sponsoring the transportation fees for a 3-day workshop targeting all Form 5 students to provide them the tips and techniques in answering SPM questions for subjects like Bahasa Malaysia, Sejarah (History), English, Mathematics, Science, Geography, Economy etc. Most of these students come from underprivileged background, hence the students might hesitate and even avoid attending the workshop if they were required to pay for it.
As part of our CSR initiatives, we have donated RM5,000 to AJK PIBG SMK Bahang to cover the transportation fees for the workshop.
We are delighted to see the happy faces of the students who attended the workshop.
